In the coming months Australia will have the opportunity to vote in the upcoming referendum on a First Nations Voice to Parliament. This once in a generation opportunity to take an important step forward for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander justice has the potential to bring life-changing, hope-filled and healing opportunities for future generations.
The outcome of the Voice to Parliament for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples needs your support. And you can help, just by having conversations.
Our conversations in the lead up to the referendum are more important than ever in helping our friends, family, neighbours, and community talk through questions around the upcoming referendum.
To help equip and support our Common Grace movement in having gracious conversations around the upcoming referendum we have developed a newly released ‘Christian Guide to Table Talk Conversations for the Voice to Parliament’ in partnership with Tearfund Australia, drawing on our key resources, as well as resources shared as part of the Together, Yes Kitchen Table Conversations.
Table Talk Conversations are a tried and tested, simple yet incredibly powerful way to engage in conversations about important issues. Hosting a Table Talk Conversation with a small group (up to 10 people) is an important way you can speak prophetically during this season and invite people into a safe and respectful space for gracious conversations.
Common Grace and Tearfund are co-hosting two online 'Table Talk Conversation Webinars'. This is an opportunity to learn more, explore what is included in the guide, and hear from Aboriginal Christian Leaders, and ask questions.
